Let’s discuss it briefly in terms of what it can do for kids specifically (but the same benefits can and will occur for adults as well!). Yoga encourages body awareness, and awareness of the present moment. It can help build self-confidence. It challenges kids in a non-competitive atmosphere. It can help develop intuition, teaches self-control, and calms the mind. It also provides tools for stress management. The list can go on. All of the above-mentioned are extremely helpful skills to have, whether it be for an adult or a child. The one that stands out for me this month is that Yoga gives kids tools for stress management. Did you know that April is National Stress Awareness Month? Check out the following article on some tips to help kids relax:
And if you want to give your child the gift of Yoga, check out our Spring Session page; we are stretching Stress Awareness Month into May (because stress doesn't just happen in the month of April :) and are offering a special for our Friday evening class in Ile Perrot. Come and join us!
